Meet the baker
What started as feeding a bubbly little jar on my kitchen counter has grown into Donna's Loaf — a full-on labor of love. Fun fact: that jar has a name. Brumhildough is my sourdough starter, and she's the heart of every loaf that leaves this kitchen. I bake the way my family always has — slowly, by hand, with ingredients I'd happily serve at my own table.
Every loaf is mixed, shaped, and scored by these two hands, then given a long, patient rise so the flavor and that beautiful open crumb have time to develop. For the sweets — cookies and other treats — I mill my own flour so they taste as fresh as the day they're baked. Whether it's a tangy country loaf, a savory cheddar-jalapeño, or a warm batch of cinnamon rolls, I can't wait to share it with your family.

The cheddar jalapeno is great! Eat it fresh or toasted and slather it with some butter or load on the Duke's and make a cheddar, salami, and banana pepper sandwich. It's got just the right amount of heat and is loaded with flavor.
Hands down the best sourdough I've ever had. The cheddar jalapeño doesn't make it past the car ride home!
